June 2022 has been full of big tech events in Armenia and worldwide bringing together groundbreaking startups, giant companies, ventures and world class speakers. We overview them in this article and present Armenia’s presence in each.
Emerge 2022 Top Tech Conference on June 1 – 2
EMERGE is the international tech conference that brings together the most promising startups, talent, and ecosystem players from the New East region. EMERGE 2022 was held in Yerevan, Armenia, on June 1-2. This event was attended by more than 2000 IT sector representatives from USA, countries from Western and Eastern Europe, the Balkans and Central Asia. Among the speakers were representatives from TechCrunch, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Snap Inc., Pinterest, Google Deepmind, Glovo and many other international companies.
The conference aimed at introducing specialists, founders and investors on IT development trends, as well as becoming a platform for forming networks between top specialists. The speeches were focused on two directions – trendwatching and #founderstories. There was also an opportunity of matchmaking – face to face meetings with speakers and investors. Another key component of the conference was the annual Emerge Challenge competition, the winners of which received investments and awards by Amazon Web Services.
VivaTech 2022 on June 15- June 18
World’s brightest minds and talents gathered together in Paris over VivaTech-2022 international exhibition to celebrate the latest innovations. It’s a great place for networking, for making business and also for learning from the tech community.
Armenian delegation consisting of 9 industry startups participated in the exhibition under the joint pavilion Armenia. Another 8 Armenian startups with great potential participated in the event as visitors, having the opportunity to attract the attention of interested companies and investors, to reach promising agreements with major representatives of the technological world.
Among the participants were Renderforest, Hirebee.ai, ArmBionics, QaylTech , Earlyone, rBlox Osensus, addevice.io, doodooc, Ministry of High-Tech Industry of the Republic of Armenia and others.
Collision Conference 2022 on June 20 -23
Collision is America’s fastest-growing tech conference welcoming market leaders, tech experts and the media. It’s widely recognized as “the Olympics of tech.” After two consecutive years of hosting the conference online, this year’s gathering was in the Enercare Centre in Toronto for June 20-23, 2022 period. The number of Collision attendees reached to 35000 this year. Renderforest, Medpoint Technologies and BrainX from Armenia presented their innovations to the world.
The Orion Worldwide Innovations Summit 2022 on June 22
The Orion Worldwide Innovations Summit 2022 was held on June 22, bringing together globally recognized professionals from different industries, venture capitalists and Angel Investors. This year the event was held under the slogan “Unicorns Position Armenia”.
The keynote speaker of the summit was Mark Chenian, a renowned expert in investment banking and financial advisory, who spoke on the topic of “Innovation and Entrepreneurship”. Orion Summit 2022 featured over 20 speakers from tech, finance, business, academia, commerce, jurisprudence, law, arts and music, world-class founders, investors, advisors and professionals.
Silicon Mountains 2022 International Technology Summit on June 17
Within the framework of the summit, high-ranking officials of the executive and legislative bodies of the RA, representatives of leading ICT companies, invited experts from world-leading organizations discussed a number of issues related to the possibility of digital transformation in various fields and the application of digital solutions. As well as they presented their vision on the following topics: digital transformation, cybersecurity, fintech.
During the panel discussions entitled “Digital Transformation” and “Fintech”, a number of topics were discussed, in particular, the digitalization strategy, the necessary infrastructure and security, they also addressed the issues and challenges related to digitalization in Armenia, and shared their experiences.
AI Conf Armenia 2022 June 25
YSU – Krisp AI Lab opening ceremony was held on 25th of June. Valuable talks and discussions were made by more than 20 experts in the field as part of the first and long-awaited event on artificial intelligence in Armenia.
The conference AI Conf Armenia 2022 was initiated by Krisp and Yerevan State University for students interested in artificial intelligence, young researchers, as well as professionals with some experience in the sphere. Almost 1,000 students and specialists have attended the event. Congratulations on this special achievement to Armenian tech ecosystem.
